Why does my Frosty the Snowman DVD change from English to Spanish without being prompted?
I bought Frosty the Snowman for my kids and sometimes when they watch it, it flips from English to Spanish without prompting and I can't get it to switch back without turning the DVD player off & on. Any ideas?

That happened to me too the first time I showed it to the kids at my childcare center...it was frustrating. I don't know why I tried this, but I pressed the button on the TV remote that switches the language from English to Spanish and back (I think it's called "SAP") and it worked. Hope this helps!

  1. Earth: The Connected Home

DVD players don’t have SAP (Separate Audio Program) built in. The disks have a language option sometimes, and they can be changed from the disk menu.

Most likely, the batteries in your DVD player remote control are wearing out. I know that sounds strange, but dying batteries can arbitrarily send out bazaar codes without prompting, and might cause all manner of weird occurances.

Try batteries first. If that doesn’t help, try replacing the DVD, and finally the DVD player if necessary.
